Dr. Steven V. Kheyfets

 

Dr. Steven Kheyfets is the newest addition to Advanced Urology of South Florida. He was born in Belarus, Russia and moved to the United States at the age of four. He grew up in Queens, New York City, and graduated from an accelerated medical school program at Stony Brook University, NY.

 

Dr. Kheyfets completed his 5 year urologic surgery residency training at Geisinger Medical Center, Pennsylvania and chose to pursue additional specialty fellowship training at Indiana University withDr. Steven V. Kheyfets is an expert robotic Surgeon. Dr. Chandru Sundaram to become an expert in the field of robotic and laparoscopic surgery.

 

Dr. Kheyfets has authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters, surgical videos and presentations in the field of minimally invasive surgery.

 

Dr. Kheyfets specializes in urologic cancers of the adrenal gland, kidney, prostate, and bladder, as well as benign urologic diseases - treatment of obstructive benign prostatic hyperplasia and kidney stones.

 

Dr. Kheyfets provides a personalized approach to each patient’s medical needs. He is trained in the use of state of the art technology, medical knowledge and the power of the mind-body connection.

Dr. Kheyfets has been involved in cutting edge research, including conducting a study to test whether a vitamin B analog conjugated with a fluorescent dye will help to “brighten up” kidney cancer tumors during surgery. This would give surgeons a dependable guide for removing only the tumors, leaving the remainder of healthy kidney intact.

 

Dr. Kheyfets is fluent in both English and Russian. He lives in Delray Beach with his wife, Angelina.
