About Dr. Scheckowitz
With over two decades as a practicing urologist, Edward M. Scheckowitz, MD, FACS is a trusted leader in modern urologic medicine. Dr. Scheckowitz cares for patients at Advanced Urology of South Florida in Delray Beach, Florida.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in economics with honors from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Scheckowitz earned both his master’s in physiology and his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Dr. Scheckowitz then completed a two-year general surgery residency, as well as a four-year urology residency through the University Hospitals of Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University.
To ensure that he continues offering the latest and most advanced treatments for his patients, Dr. Scheckowitz maintains membership as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also board certified through the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Scheckowitz is an affiliate assistant professor of clinical biomedical science in the Department of Surgery at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Prior to this position, he served as the chairman of the Department of Surgery at Delray Medical Center.
Specializing in both surgical and nonsurgical treatments for a wide range of urologic disorders, Dr. Scheckowitz offers comprehensive care for bladder and kidney cancer, prostate issues, impotence, chronic urinary tract infections, and more. Dr. Scheckowitz was also among the first urologists in South Florida to offer bipolar vaporization and the GreenLight™ Laser for treating prostate disorders.
When Dr. Scheckowitz is away from the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. They reside locally in Parkland, Florida.
